Choral Consulting
We believe choral music is both an art form and an agent for change. Our choral consulting services help ensembles, conductors, schools, and organizations achieve musical excellence while deepening inclusion, representation, and impact.
Whether you’re refining your curriculum, planning a season, commissioning new works, or strengthening your ensemble culture, we bring artistry, scholarship, and strategy together to help your community sing with greater purpose and power.
Guest Conducting
We bring artistry and inspiration to every podium. From professional ensembles to community choirs and educational institutions, guest conducting engagements with Dr. Arreon A. Harley-Emerson combine musical precision with inclusive leadership.
Repertoire expertise spans Spirituals, Gospel, Freedom Songs, and Baroque music performed through historically informed practice—creating performances that are both culturally valid and transformative.
Presentations, Workshops & Keynotes
We offer custom presentations, workshops, and keynote sessions that inspire reflection and action in choral and educational settings. Topics include:
- Building inclusive classroom and ensemble cultures
- Interpreting music from the Black Diaspora
- Culturally-informed and differentiated conducting
- Navigating divisive concept laws in choral education
All sessions are designed to be interactive, research-informed, and relevant to today’s evolving choral landscape.
Artistic Advising
We provide artistic advising for choirs, churches, schools, and arts organizations seeking to diversify and deepen their programming. Our advising covers repertoire planning, season design, artistic visioning, and interpretive context—ensuring your programs are engaging, meaningful, and mission-aligned.
Curriculum Review, Revision & Refinement
We partner with academic institutions and community programs to review, revise, and refine choral and general music curricula through a lens of excellence, access, and relevance. Services include policy review, curricular design, assessment alignment, and integration of diverse musical traditions and pedagogies.
Commissions
We believe representation begins with creation. Through
Equity Sings Commissions, we connect organizations with composers of color and underrepresented voices to expand the choral canon. From project concept to premiere, we facilitate composer selection, commission management, and contextual materials such as program notes and educational resources.
In all things that I do, I use a lens of equity, justice and inclusion. I only accept clients who are fully committed to making meaningful and measurable change.
